Although our efforts are mainly focused on providing scholarships for kids in Rwanda, we also want to give students in America the opportunity to learn.  A distinction of the Right2School Program is the curriculum that we offer to American public schools.

With the help of the Department of Educational Policy Studies at Penn State University we have developed curriculum based on social responsibility within the context of Rwanda.  By implementing the material we will be providing financial assistance to secondary and vocational school students in Rwanda while educating American students in the areas of the rights and responsibilities associated with social responsibility and educational equity. There is a service learning component as part of the curriculum, in which the students complete a fundraising project. We also hope to give American students a tangible opportunity to gain a wider perspective on the world and hopefully start a fire within them for global stewardship.

We recently were given the opportunity to speak to almost 200 3rd and 4th graders about Rwanda and what we are doing.  They were highly engaged and interested, as we provided an activity booklet filled with facts about Rwanda.

If you are interested in us speaking to your group, let us know.
