Youth Development Council of Akindege (YDCA)

The YDCA was founded in August 2011 for the purpose of challenging and stimulating our students in the area of community development.  We don't believe that our students need to wait to graduate from school in order to improve their village. Instead, we want to encourage and equip them now to start thinking in terms of development.

The YDCA is an advisory group of seven of our students to brainstorm and eventually implement ideas that would help develop the village of Akindege.  With the permission of the village government, the students discuss current needs of the village and how they can fulfill those needs tangibly.  The possibilities are endless and can be from any sector of society - business, health, sanitation, trade, transportation, or more.  The goal is for the students to begin caring for and improving their village. The Council meets every month and we oversee its activities.
